#Under30Unveiled presents emerging visual artists and creatives from various disciplines in Singapore. This is a millennial generation in their mid-20s that are now being noticed for their fresh approach to their own practices and the media they work with. Many of them are acutely conscious of regional and local history, but without being burdened by it. This position frees their perspective to incorporate global trends and issues into their work, while still remaining relevant to the local landscape.
First on our list is Stephanie Jane Burt, who was born in Singapore and educated at Glasgow School of Art, where she received her BA (Hons) in Painting and MFA. Since 2014, she has already exhibited in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Paris and New Jersey. Upon returning to Singapore last year, her work has been well-received and her first solo exhibition O Dear, What Can The Matter Be? is now on view at Yeo Workshop, Gillman Barracks.
