A melting pot for all things culture and heritage, art enthusiasts are on the lookout for Singapore’s spirited art scene, known as the destination where the works of local and international artists congregate.
Set to dazzle art enthusiasts from September 15 to October 1, the Singapore Art Gallery Weekend is the nation’s answer to showcasing exceptional artworks in the Lion City. Organised by the Art Galleries Association Singapore (AGAS), the initiative hopes to preserve the rich arts and culture scene established in the country. For art enthusiasts, the initiative strives to promote professional and ethical gallery practices, placing a spotlight on the dedication of art galleries in presenting the most exceptional artworks to audiences around the region.
Visitors can look forward to the best selection of contemporary art in Singapore displayed in various hotels and galleries, including Singapore Art Museum at Tanjong Pagar Distripark, Mizuma Gallery, Art Porters Gallery, and M Social Singapore. Catch the iconic paintings of Nanyang artist Cheong Soo Pieng, the mesmerising digital works of Brandon Tay, and a sustainable installation made from Formula 1 floodlights. Budding art collectors are invited to the initiative’s ‘Talking About Art’ segment, where art history lectures and art investment tips by art advisories offer invaluable insight into the art ecosystem.
