Singapore will launch a new gallery weekend in September. Organised by the Art Galleries Association Singapore (AGAS), Singapore Art Gallery Weekend will take place at galleries and other venues across the city from 15 September to 1 October 2023.
'We envisioned Gallery Weekend in September 2023 as another chapter in Singapore's arts calendar, offering an alternative rhythm to the popular Art Week in January', said Audrey Yeo, President of AGAS and founder of Yeo Workshop.
Singapore Art Week, which is helmed by the National Arts Council, next takes place from 19 to 28 January 2024. It coincides with art fair ART SG from 19 to 21 January 2024.
'Unlike Art Week, which revolves around the art fair, Gallery Weekend invites art enthusiasts to embrace a decentralised experience, exploring galleries and events on foot and immersing themselves in the myriad visual and cultural experiences throughout our city,' Yeo said.
