Co-curated by the Asian Art Museum’s Senior Curator of South and Southeast Asian Art Forrest McGill and the Cincinnati Art Museum’s Curator of South Asian Art, Islamic Art and Antiquities Ainsley M. Cameron, the exhibition features more than 120 historic and contemporary works spanning sculpture, painting, textiles, jewelry and photographs from countries including India, Pakistan, Nepal, Tibet, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesia.
There are also large video screens that display different styles of dance alongside sculptures of art and objects, conveying the importance of dance in South and Southeast Asian culture.

The most memorable contemporary piece is Sarah Choo Jing’s “The Art of the Rehearsal” from 2016, a three-channel panoramic video installation showing dancers stretching and moving against a view of urban Singapore. It’s easy to view the nearly three-minute video repeatedly during a visit and still discover new details in each dancer’s performance."
