In a box together with photographic slides of family photographs made between the late 1960s-1970s, there are several slides from tourist sites visited. The referent image of this work is one such slide from an Australian park. Rendered with an electronic microscope, the resultant image compresses layers of time, geography, and atmosphere. The work thus pictures layers of organic material accumulated on the slide over time, and the original represented image in the photograph. The image is further fragmented into 10 prints, creating parcels of readings of materiality, translocation and history." - Wei Leng TayMostre
