Joshua Lewin is an art collector based in Singapore. His interest in photography began in childhood, as his father (himself a photography collector), routinely took Joshua to museums and spoke to him about art. As a result, from a young age Joshua was drawn to photography both for its accessibility and its importance as a means of documenting the past. After graduating from university, he began his own photography collection, making it a point to spend some portion of his income on a piece of art each year. Since moving to Singapore two years ago, Josh and his wife Kaavya’s collection has broadened to embrace an expansive notion of photography as a medium, with a focus on themes related to Southeast and South Asia, social justice, and materiality.
